Projecto Mensagem

Contemporary voices in music offer a new context to the words of great Portuguese writers such as Fernando Pessoa, Sophia de Mello Breyner, or Eugénio de Andrade.

Four composers create new musical works for voice and piano taking as a starting point the literary work of a Portuguese author. This is the premise of "Mensagem", a project by soprano Lara Martins and pianist Nuno Marques. Daniel Bernardes (Portugal), Daniel Davis (England), Rodrigo Cardoso (Portugal) and Mariel Mayz (USA) are the guest composers for this project, together with 20th century greats Luis de Freitas Branco and Frederico de Freitas.
